"Guns. Lots of guns." That's the name of the game for John Wick, hitman extraordinaire and all-around badass. Known for his love of dogs and penchant for brutal executions, John Wick has a bit of a reputation in the criminal underworld. He's Baba Yaga. He's the one you send to kill the Boogeyman. He's even killed three men in a bar with a pencil. Who does that?

Whether it's with a well-aimed bullet, a samurai sword, or a zip-locked chokehold, he certainly has a way of creatively dispatching his foes. But we all know he's at his best when backed into a corner, eliminating hired goon after hired goon with brutal efficiency. So the big question is, how many kills has John Wick racked up? With a staggering 299 eliminations so far, the all-star contract killer is a one-man army. But which of the "John Wick" films features the most kills?

Here's John Wick's body count across the entire series so far. Ranked in ascending order, of course.

3. John Wick (84 Kills)

It's the movie that started his killing spree. "John Wick" sees Keanu Reeves step into the role of the world's deadliest hitman who was dragged out of retirement when the son of Russian mob boss Viggo Tarasov steals his car and kills his dog. It's a tale of bloody, brutal revenge as the legendary assassin fights his way up the food chain.

The film's mix of gun-fu and sheer bloody brutality is the perfect combination. It's also one of the best Hollywood action flicks I'd seen in a long time when it was released back in 2014. We follow Wick as he picks up his old life where he left off. But this time, it's personal.

By the end of the film, Wick slays hordes of thugs and gangsters — 84 of them, to be exact.

One of my favorite kills is near the start of the movie when Russian gangster Tarasov sends his goons to take Wick down. But they've bitten off more than they can chew, and it's not long before he's dispatching them one by one. This scene is full of frantic gunplay and quick reflexes, followed by one of Wick's most impressive kills, shooting a balaclava-clad gangster through a wall before throwing him through a window to finish him off. Show off.

But while it felt like "John Wick" had a pretty high body count at the time, this was only the beginning.

2. John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (94 Kills)

The latest chapter in the series, "John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum" sees our favorite assassin turned excommunicado. Denounced by The Continental and with an enormous bounty on his head, it's the perfect setup to dial up the kill count.

Mere seconds after his expulsion, Wick finds an army of contract killers are coming for his head. It's my favorite of the franchise so far, pitting him not just against low-level thugs and goons, but his fellow world-class assassins. Obviously, he's more than up to the job.

By the end of "Chapter 3," he racks up an impressive 94 kills, with some of the best hitmen in the world among them.

As for this film's best kill, it has to be Ernest, the first assassin to encounter Wick after he's been excommunicated. Tracking Wick to a public library, Ernest seems to have the upper hand. Played by Serbian basketball player Boban Marjanović, he's a sheer mountain of a man. But as he begins spouting quotes from Dante Alighieri's "Divine Comedy," Wick turns to literature himself, literally. Brutally beating the assassin with an old book, Wick eventually finishes him off with a grotesque neck break, using the book as leverage to snap the man's spine before popping it back on a shelf.

But even killing off most of the world's biggest hitmen isn't quite enough to clinch the top spot...

1. John Wick: Chapter 2 (128 Kills)

Undoubtedly the deadliest movie so far, "John Wick: Chapter 2" tells us what happens to Wick after the first movie, leading up to his excommunicado status in the third film. And it's all about The Continental.

Double-crossed by an Italian crime boss, Wick fights his way through hordes of men sent to take him down. Ultimately, his target, Santino D'Antonio (Riccardo Scamarcio), holes up at The Continental, knowing that Wick can't touch him without facing the consequences. It's a genius plan ... but it doesn't quite work out, with Wick completely dismantling his criminal empire before murdering the man in cold blood.

By the end of the movie, John bags a staggering 128 kills, wiping out most of the Italian crime syndicate in the process.

"Chapter 2" boasts stylish shootouts, high-octane chase scenes, and plenty of brutal kills — everything you would expect of a "John Wick" sequel. But the best kill of the entire series comes when we finally see Wick take someone on with a pencil. Being chased down by a pair of assassins, John grabs the closest items to hand — two pencils. He kills one of them by savagely driving a pencil into his ear, then jams the second pencil into the back of the skull of his other pursuer. It's grim, it's bloody, and it's damned impressive. Just make sure you never ask him to borrow a pencil.

Will John Wick up the ante in the upcoming "John Wick" sequels? For now, we'll have to wait and see. But his hefty body count will take some beating.
